Get ready for a spectacular celebration as the Rottingdean Village Fair returns, marking 'A Hundred and One Years of Fun!'.
Last year we celebrated our centenary with a bang, and this year, we're channeling the spirit of the 1920s with a dazzling Art Deco theme - reflecting that iconic era when our Fair was first held.
We're thrilled to bring this beloved event back to our village green, offering more stalls and food options than ever before! Prepare for a delightful array of local crafts, unique treasures, and a culinary journey to tempt every taste bud.
You'll also find diverse entertainment throughout the day, alongside a vibrant mix of commercial, community, and charity stalls, ensuring there's something for everyone. Naturally, we’re all keeping our fingers crossed for good weather once again - but come rain or shine, the Fair will always still happen - even if we have to move it indoors to the various locations that are always on standby, just in case!
Join us for a 'simply spiffing day out' packed with fun, festivities, and a touch of cinematic intrigue. Let's make this year's Fair the best one ever and continue creating unforgettable community moments, knowing that profits from the fair are distributed every year to local good causes.
A Deliciously Divine Day!

Heaps of Heavenly Stalls!

Year on year, The Rottingdean Fair welcomes new stallholders to attend - and this year is no exception. Aside from all the usual favourites there'll be a variety of new vendors with all sorts of new goodies on offer.
Of course, part of the fun of a village fair is mooching from stall to stall, perusing the diverse range of goodies on sale - and perhaps going home with one or two things you never knew you wanted!
So come and meander through our three bustling marketplaces where local artisans and vendors will be offering all sorts of delightful wares; handicrafts, ceramics, jewellery, artwork, bric-brac, vintage clothing, and a variety of fresh and local produce too.
You'll find all sorts of exciting things to tempt you at the Rottingdean Village Fair.
You can also join in the spirit of giving at our many local charity stalls, which provide an invaluable platform for these important organisations to raise awareness and funds for their vital missions, all while enriching the Fair with their passion and purpose. By supporting these charity stalls, you're making a direct and meaningful difference in the lives of those in need and strengthening our community's philanthropic spirit.
You can also discover the heartbeat of Rottingdean at our local community stalls too, where organisations like the Parish Council and the Heritage Society share their important stories and initiatives.
These stalls offer a glimpse into the soul of our village, showcasing the dedication and passion of those working tirelessly for our community's well-being. By engaging with these stalls, you're actively participating in the fabric of our village and helping to create a brighter future for all.

Spiffing Entertainment!
This year we'll be welcoming an amazing line-up of entertainment at all three of of our performance areas throughout the day! The main stage will be beside the pond, the second stage in Kipling Gardens and the third (specifically for children) outside St. Margaret's Church.
Aside from welcoming back some of our many talented local performers from previous years, we will also be introducing some fabulous new performers too - so there's sure to be something for everyone.
Singers and dancers, soloists and bands - and a host of community groups will take to the stage to dazzle and delight.
Our wonderful Master of Ceremonies, Maurice Thorogood, will also be on hand at the main stage to introduce the acts and help guide us through all the most exciting and intriguing highlights of the day.

Frivolous Fun for the Nippers!
Once again this year, we are continuing to extend on the offering for kids, who are such an important part of the day.
The excellent Punch and Judy Show that was so very popular with everyone last year will definitely be back - as will the incredibly popular farmyard petting area (courtesy of High Barn Farm), the bouncy castles, the candy floss station and the ice cream van!
Many of the charity stalls will also be putting on a variety of fun games and challenges which the whole family can play together.
If all goes to plan, there will also be one or two other really exciting surprises on the day! In short, there will be more for the kids to do and to see this year than ever before - and we can't wait to welcome them all to this very special event!

And By Special Appearance...
We are absolutely delighted to welcome back the incredible talents of our local thespian group of players, The Rottingdean Drama Society, who will be helping to add some colour and humour to the proceedings at the Fair this year.
In keeping with our theme of 'One Hundred and One Years of Fun', a variety of engaging and imaginary characters, all inspired by the Roaring Twenties theme, will be wandering the Fair at different times of the day and interacting with visitors in various surprising and amusing ways!
Keep your eyes peeled for a somewhat flirtatious Flapper, a rather creepy Undertaker and slightly squiffy Vicar - and there will probably be one or two other characters too! The children will definitely have fun trying to find them - and parents will be sure to enjoy their witty anecdotes!
We also have another sensational surprise in store! We’re delighted to announce a special and extremely rare appearance by the creator of one of the most famous controversies of all time – his story not only made into a feature film but soon to be the subject of a BBC1 documentary too.
The special effects artist in question will be exhibiting the somewhat creepy subject of this global phenomenon to those who wish to actually see it in the flesh. For a small donation to our charity fund, you can step behind the curtain into the dark of the Dovecote Cottage and experience the horror for yourself! Whilst there, you might also meet the creator and be able to talk about his work to bring this spine-chilling creature to life... or should we say death? We think it'll be an absolute scream!
Parental Guidance is advised for for children under the age of 8.

Stonks of Scrumptious Grub!
Having fun is always hungry work - and this year we’ll be providing more options than ever. There'll be our fabulous BBQ, courtesy of the The Plough Inn, serving flame-grilled burgers and hot dogs - and of course there'll be the ever-popular Whiteway Centre tea tents with their delicious range of home-made sandwiches and cakes.
We'll also be extending the food offering still further this year by inviting two other guest cuisines, both fragrant Thai and delicious filled crĂŞpes. So come along and savour the many flavours of our food stalls, where a cornucopia of delicious goodies await. From traditional fair treats to gourmet bites, your taste buds are in for a real treat.

Tons of Tipples and Tea!

For the third year running, 'The Plough' has kindly agreed to help us run the bar on the day, so you’ll be able to enjoy ice-cold draught beer, wines and other drinks on The Green.
If you fancy something a bit special, there'll also be a dedicated Pimms & Prosecco tent in Kipling Gardens too - with music and entertainment on our second and more intimate stage!

And of course, if you want something somewhat less alcoholic, there'll be plenty of tea and coffee on hand too - along with a fabulous range of delicious sandwiches and cakes, courtesy of The Whiteway Centre and their fabulous team of volunteers.
There's always something for everyone at The Rottingdean Village Fair!
Make a Dreamy New Friend!
For the third year running, there will be a VIP area set aside for our 'Friends of the Fair' with a great view of the Kipling Gardens stage. You'll also get a delicious glass of Pimm's on arrival to help get you into the swing of things!

Who gets the Lolly?
Every year, the Committee of the Rottingdean Village Fair chooses a range of different local organisations to support by granting them a proportion of the profits generated by the Fair.
The beneficiaries for this year are yet to be decided upon, but if you would like to suggest a deserving local organisation please don't hesitate to get in touch with us and let us know.

Please note that we generally prefer to support specific projects and initiatives as opposed to general funding.
Registered charities also further benefit from the matched funding scheme we can also arrange on their behalf, which effectively doubles the amount of money they ultimately receive.
